Building Growth Cultures

Practical steps for developing vibrant professional growth cultures

How can we ensure every educator can enhance their expertise every term? What are the most effective ways of building a vibrant professional learning culture? How can we unlock fresh energy for engaging with research evidence?

In this live, in-person, 1-day masterclass, former Head Teacher and best-selling author Tom Sherrington (UK) is teaming up with Dr Simon Breakspear to bring fresh thinking, actionable frameworks and practical tools for enhancing professional learning in your school.

Simon (Teaching Sprints) and Tom (Walkthrus) will share what they’ve learned impactful, professional learning leaders do differently to help everyone move forward in a meaningful and sustainable way. They will draw out lessons from their embedded case study work from around Australia and across the globe.

They will share their latest thinking, books and resources. You will have time in the room to reflect, apply and develop an action plan for your own context.

You will learn

In this masterclass, Tom and Simon will explore how to:

    • Understand and navigate the challenging trends impacting the time and cognitive bandwidth available for professional learning
    • Engage with the six key decisions for setting up and sustaining your job-embedded professional learning approaches.
    • Develop a school-specific instructional playbook/cluster of core research-informed teaching strategies
    • Enhance team learning and grow shared ownership
